I invite you to join me on this incredible journey to “The Land of the Bible.”  You will “walk where Jesus walked!” The Bible will “come alive” to you amidst the backdrop of these spectacular sites. Your understanding and faith will grow as together we read and study God’s Word together on location. Following in the footsteps of Jesus, each location will equip you with a better grasp of the Holy Scriptures. “What joy for those whose strength comes from the LORD, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem”           (Psalm 84:5 NLT).

Itinerary

 

 (Day 1): Depart from the U.S. to Tel Aviv

 (Day 2): Arrive in Tel Aviv – Transfer to your hotel in Tiberias

Meet your tour guide at the airport in Tel Aviv and be transported to your hotel in Tiberias for dinner and accommodations.

 (Day 3): Caesarea – Mount Carmel – Megiddo – Nazareth – Sea of Galilee

Start the day at Caesarea Maritima at the magnificent Roman, Byzantine, and Crusader ruins. Visit Mount Carmel, Megiddo, and explore sites that date back to 4000 BC. See the ruins from the time of King Solomon and King Ahab. Overlook the Armageddon Valley. Travel to Nazareth and visit The Church of the Annunciation and The Archaeological Garden. Then, return to the Sea of Galilee for dinner at your hotel.

 (Day 4): Sea of Galilee – Magdala 

Start the day with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee. Visit the Jesus Boat Museum and see a 2000- year-old boat dating from the time of Christ. See the ruins of Capernaum and Peter’s mother-in- law’s residence where Jesus raised her up from a fever. Stand atop the Mount of Beatitudes located along the Sea of Galilee. From here, Jesus delivered His message of Matthew Chapter 5. Tour Magdala, believed to be the birthplace of Mary Magdalene. Then, travel back to Tiberias for dinner at your hotel.

 (Day 5): Sea of Galilee – Jericho – Bethlehem – Shepherd’s Field

Check out of your hotel. Travel through the Jordan valley, visiting the baptismal site on the Jordan River at Bet Arabah also known as “Qasr el Yahud,” meaning “the crossing place of the Jews.” It is here that the Israelites crossed the Jordan River, where the prophet Elijah was taken into Heaven, and where Jesus was baptized. You might choose to be baptized here as well! Visit Tel Jericho - the location of ancient Jericho at the time of Joshua. This site provides an excellent view of the Judean wilderness and the Mount of Temptation - the location of Christ’s tempting by Satan in Matthew Chapter 4. Journey to the Shepherd’s Field where the Angels appeared announcing the Good News of Christ’s birth. Visit The Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem - the site believed to be the birthplace of Christ. Check into your hotel for dinner and your accommodations in the City of Jerusalem.

(Day 6): The Temple Mount – The Pools of Bethesda – The Mount of Olives – The Israeli Museum​ 

Visit The Temple Mount, recalling how Abraham brought his son Isaac here as an offering to the Lord. Also, the site where King Solomon’s Temple stood and later rebuilt by Ezra and Nehemiah and the esplanade added by King Herod the Great. Learn about Jesus' teachings at the Temple which promoted Jesus' ministry in Jerusalem. Visit the nearby pools of Bethesda where Jesus healed the paralytic and the nearby Church of St Anne’s - Mary’s mother, a church known for itsamazing acoustics. Proceed to the Mount of Olives and Palm Sunday Road stopping at Dominus Flevit for a panoramic view of the City of Jerusalem and the amazing observation Jesus must have had as He wept over the City. Enter the Israeli Museum for a look at a model of the City of Jerusalem as it appeared in the 1st century AD and the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are on display. Return to your hotel for dinner and accommodations.

(Day 7): Mt Zion – Jewish quarter – Wailing Wall

Start your day at the Davidson Center - walking where Jesus walked - on streets dating to the time of Christ. Stand atop the southern steps of the Temple where Peter preached and where the first Christians were baptized. Travel to Mount Zion and the Upper Room - the site of Jesus’ final meal with His disciples just prior to His arrest and crucifixion. Enter the Zion Gate to the Jewish quarter, the Roman-Byzantine Cardo, King Hezekiah’s broad wall, the Hurva Synagogue, and the Golden Temple Menorah. Stop and pray at the Wailing Wall - Judaism’s holiest place and the Western Wall of Herodian’s Temple's known for its magnificent architecture. Return to your hotel for dinner and your Jerusalem accommodations.

(Day 8): Masada – Qumran – The Dead Sea

Tour the area of The Dead Sea. Visit Masada - the fortress built by King Herod the Great and made famous by the Zealots in 73/74 AD which ended in the stand-off against the Romans. Travel to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found and take a swim in the Dead Sea - the lowest site on earth! Return to your hotel for dinner and accommodations in the City of Jerusalem.

(Day 9): The Garden of Gethsemane – Caiaphas’ House – The Garden Tomb - Yad Vashem 

Begin your day at The Garden of Gethsemane and The Church of All Nations. Pray at the same rock believed to be that upon which Jesus prayed the night of His arrest. Visit Caiaphas’ Palace where Jesus was held until His trial and the site where Peter denied our Lord. See Ecce Homo - biblical Gabbatha and follow the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Walk through Old Town Jerusalem where Jesus carried His cross on His way to Golgotha - The Place of the Skull. End your day at the Garden Tomb. There, reflect on Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection on your behalf and celebrate holy communion with me and with the other members of our group. Return to your hotel for dinner and accommodations in the City of Jerusalem.

(Day 10): Depart from Tel Aviv to the U.S., and arrive back the same day.
