I’m excited to invite members and friends of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bellevue, NE to travel with me to Greece and Turkey to walk in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul and other leaders of the early church. The stories of the New Testament will come alive for us in new ways as we visit Corinth, Ephesus, Thessaloniki, and Philippi.  We will hear the stories from Scripture in the very places Paul’s letters were first heard. We will stand in the places Paul stood and understand better the context of his ministry.  We will experience new insight through the history of these communities. And since they’re close by, we’ll visit the monasteries balanced impossibly atop the towering cliffs of Meteora, we’ll travel by sea to the islands of Crete and Mykonos and Rhodes and Santorini. Some will want to taste the wine, the olive oil, and eat fresh caught fish. Some may even want to join me in eating as much feta cheese as possible. Mmmmm! Mostly, I hope to learn more about our own perspectives on the world and Scripture, learn more about each other, and enjoy the beauty of the region. It's going to be a good time.
