Join Rev. Laila Barr and the people of Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church for an unforgettable journey into the living story of Egypt—where the ancient past meets a vibrant present, and every day feels like stepping into Scripture, history, and wonder all at once.
Stand in awe before the mighty Pyramids of Giza, watch the Nile flow as it has for thousands of years, and explore a land filled with breathtaking beauty and deep spiritual heritage. Along the way, you’ll wander colorful bazaars, marvel at majestic temples, and soak in the quiet serenity of desert landscapes—then feel the fresh breeze of the glistening Red Sea.
You’ll also encounter Egypt’s powerful Christian legacy through visits to sacred sites in Old Cairo, including the Hanging Church and the Church of Saints Sergius and Bacchus (Abu Serga)—traditionally believed to have sheltered the Holy Family.
Whether you’re exploring ancient wonders, retracing the path of early believers, or sharing unforgettable meals together, this is more than a trip—it’s a transformative pilgrimage of faith, culture, and connection.
