Itinerary

 

Day 1: Departure from the USA

Depart from Denver, CO for your overnight flight to the Holy Land. Meals will be served on board.

Day 2, Arrival Tel Aviv / Bethlehem
We arrive at Ben Gurion airport and depart to our hotel in Bethlehem for dinner and overnight.

Day 3,  Nativity/ Shepherd Field’s / Ein Karem
After breakfast, this morning we drive to visit the church of the Nativity, the oldest church in the Holy Land marking the birthplace of our Lord. Then we visit Shepherd Fields where the angels appeared to the shepherds announcing the birth of Our Lord. These fields are also the setting of the Book of Ruth. After lunch, In the afternoon, we will visit the town of Ein Karem, the traditional birthplace of St. John the Baptist, and the site of visitation where Mary met her cousin Elizabeth. Back to our hotel for dinner and overnight. 

Day 4, Temple Mount/ Baptismal Site / Jericho / Dead Sea
This morning after breakfast, we will visit the Temple Mount, where the Jesus presentation took place center of Jesus ministry. Continue we visit the Baptismal Site nearby Jericho where we have a chance to renew our baptismal vows continue to Jericho which is known as the world's oldest city, we see the Mt of Temptations, then view Tel Jericho location of the city at the time of Joshua, the nearby Elisha’s spring, Sycamore Tree recalling Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus. We will also celebrate Mass. Later, we visit the Baptismal Site nearby Jericho where we have a chance to renew our baptismal vows. Then we will go to the Dead Sea to enjoy our free time with a dip in the relaxing and healing waters of the Dead Sea. Proceed to Galilee, and check in at our hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day 5,  Cana /Nazareth/ Magdala/ Boat Ride
After breakfast, we drive, to Cana of Galilee where our Lord performed his first public miracle.  He turned water into wine to spare the bridegroom the embarrassment of running out of wine at his wedding party. Continue to Nazareth visiting the church of Annunciation where word became flesh.Return to the Sea of Galilee, visit Magdala, the hometown of Mary Magdalene, and see the 1st-century synagogue, which is the oldest synagogue discovered on the shores of Galilee with a stone-carved replica of the Temple and Menorah. Our last stop will be with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, followed by a visit to the Ancient Boat Museum that houses a 2000-year-old fishing boat found buried in mud on the shores of Galilee. The boat provides a good example of how fishing boats looked like during the time of Jesus. Back to our hotel for dinner and overnight. 

Day 6, Tabgha/ Peter’s Primacy /Capernaum/ Banias
We will drive to Tabgha on the Sea of Galilee where Jesus fed the crowd of 5,000. We will then visit the site known as “Peter’s Primacy” where Jesus appeared to His disciples for the third time after His Resurrection. We will then take a short drive to Capernaum, the biblical village and hometown of Jesus. Capernaum is closely associated with Jesus and His ministry as described in the Synoptic Gospels. There we will see the house of the mother-in-law of Peter and the ancient synagogue. Lunch on your own, perhaps you try St. Peter’s Fish Lunch. Continue to visit Banias/ Caesarea Philippi, at the source of the river Jordan, where Peter confessed that Jesus is the Messiah. Back to our hotel for dinner and overnight. 

Day 7, Jerusalem/ Nablus/ Jacobs well/ Mt. Jerusalem/ Mt of Olive 
This morning after breakfast we will start our tour heading to on to Nablus, visiting ancient Shechem saddled between Mt Ebal and Mt Gerizim, and visiting the ruins of the city dating back to the time of Jacob and Joshua where we see the high place of the city and the city gates. Nearby we visit Jacobs well where Jesus encountered the Samaritan women. To Jerusalem reaching Mount of Olives for breathtaking views of Jerusalem, as we sit in solidarity with our Lord who wept over the city. Check-in at our hotel in Bethlehem for dinner and overnight. 

Day 8, Yad Vashim/ Mt of Olives/ Mt. Zion/ Meet with Bishop Azar
We will start our day at yad Vashim, Later, we will enjoy a panoramic view from the top of Mount of Olives then we continue the Pater Noster, and down to Dominus Flevit and St. Magdalene Church. Pray at the Garden of Gethsemane and visit the Church of All Nations. Lunch on your own in the afternoon, we visit St. Peter in Gallicantu where Jesus was denied by St. Peter. Then we will visit the Upper Room, the place of the Last Supper and King David’s Tomb. In the afternoon we meet Bishop Azar. Back to our hotel for dinner and overnight.                                                              

Day 9, St. Anne & Pool of Bethesda/ Ecco Homo / Via Dolorosa/ Jewish Quarter/ Wailing Wall
This morning after breakfast we visit the Old City to visit St. Anne’s church and a visit to nearby Pools of Bethesda where the healing at the pool took place. Continue along the way of Passion of our Lord visiting the Ecce Homo “Judgment pavement” of the Via Dolorosa (The Way of Suffering), to the church of Holy Sepulcher. Later, visit the Jewish Quarter and go to the Western Wall, a section of the Western retaining wall of the Temple Mount, and Judaism’s
holiest site. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. 

Day 10, Departure
After breakfast we drive to the airport for our journey back home, giving thanks for this spiritually enriching experience.
