DAY 1: ARRIVAL TEL AVIV – TRANSFER TO HOTEL
Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, our guide will assist us through customs and passport control. Transfer to our hotel dinner and overnight
DAY 2: CAESAREA MARITIMA – MOUNT CARMEL - MEGIDDO – NAZARETH
After breakfast, we travel to Caesarea Maritima (Entrance Included), where we will visit the magnificent city
with Roman, Byzantine, and Crusader ruins. Here we will elaborate on the story of the baptism of Cornelius,
the first gentile converts into Christianity, and on the travels of Paul — those events that led Caesarea
Maritima to become the springboard of Christianity to the West. We will then continue to Mount Carmel and consider the contest between the Prophet Elijah and the false prophets of Baal. We then travel to Megiddo and explore the Tel that goes back in history to 4000 BC, looking at ruins from the times of King Solomon and King Ahab. Overlooking the Armageddon Valley, We travel to Nazareth where we will climb the Mount of Precipice, the brow of the hill on which the city was built followed by the visit of the Church of the Annunciation built over where the house of Mary stood. Proceed to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: SEA OF GALILEE
After breakfast, we depart to Caesarea Philippi “Banias” located at the foot of Mt
Hermon, where the River Jordan starts; we will see the Cultic center and the ruins of the Roman city where
Peter confessed that Jesus is Christ. We then proceed to the Mount of Beatitudes and discuss the Sermon
on the Mount, finishing the theme that was started earlier that day. We will then visit Capernaum Jesus’ Galilean ministry base. There we will see the house of Peter’s mother-in-law, in addition to other ruins of the village. We will stand in the ruins of the ancient synagogue where Jesus was confronted by the demoniac. We end our day with a visit to the ancient boat museum containing a recently- discovered 2000-year-old fishing boat. We will then sail on the Sea of Galilee on a replica of that boat. We return to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.
DAY 4: BEIT SHEAN – JERICHO – DEAD SEA – FREE AFTERNOON
After breakfast, we leave the area of Galilee, following the Jordan Valley Road to Beth Shean the capital of the Decapolis There we will see the ruins of the Roman and Byzantine cities. We will also discuss the demise of King Saul and his sons, whose bodies were hanged on the walls of Beth Shean. Jericho will be our next stop, where we will visit the Tel of Jericho with its ancient ruins, pointing out what possibly could be the foundations of the ramparts that Joshua and the Israelites brought down. Precede to the southern end of the Dead Sea to our hotel resort where after check-in we enjoy a relaxing afternoon. Enjoying a float in the Dead Sea's unique waters and the hotel spa facility. Dinner and overnight in the Dead Sea.
DAY 5: MASADA – QUMRAN – BETHLEHEM
After breakfast, we begin our day visiting Masada the fortress built by King Herod the Great and made famous by the Zealots in 73/74 AD with the standoff against the Romans. We visit the fortress and see the ruins that are considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We then continue to visit Qumran the location where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found by a Bedouin boy back in 1947. There we will see the caves and other buildings that the Essenes, the group of Jews who wrote the scrolls lived. We will then travel to Bethlehem visiting the Church of the Nativity and view the actual place where Our Lord was born. We precede to Jerusalem checking into our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem.
DAY 6: TEMPLE MOUNT – ST. ANNE’S CHURCH - MT. OLIVES – GETHSEMANE
This morning we visit the Temple Mount, seeing the esplanade which witnessed many of Jesus' activities
and teachings, passing by the Dome of the Rock which dominates the site today and where once the Holy of
the Holies of the Temple Stood. On to visit St. Anne’s Church and Pools of Bethesda where Jesus healed the paralytic. Carry on to Mt. of Olives for a panoramic view of the city, walk Palm Sunday road stopping at Dominus Flevit from the Rock of Agony by which Jesus prayed at the Garden. This afternoon we visit the Israeli Museum housing the Model city of Jerusalem depicting the city as it looked in the 1 st century AD, followed by a visit of the Shrine of the Book hosting the Dead Sea Scrolls discovered at Qumran. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
DAY 7: MT. ZION – JEWISH QUARTER – WAILING WALL – VIA DOLOROSA – HOLY SEPULCHER
After breakfast, we begin our day visiting Mount Zion to visit St. Peter in Galicantu traditional
site of Caiaphas house then visit the nearby Upper Room, the traditional site of the Last Supper, and visit King David Tomb. Entering the old city of Jerusalem via Zion gate, passing the Armenian quarter to the Jewish quarter seeing the Roman Cardo, King Hezekiah broad wall, Hurva Synagogue leading to the Wailing Wall, Judaism holiest place. This afternoon we walk and visit the Via Dolorosa to include the Ecce Homo Judgment hall leading us to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. End the day with a visit to the Garden Tomb Dinner and overnight in Bethlehem
DAY 8: DEPARTURE
After a great Journey and unforgettable moments in the Holy Land, we will check out from our Hotel, and
head to Ben Gurion Airport for flights back home.
